Privacy Policy

The Sri Lanka Campaign (SLC) cares about your privacy. We respect any personal data you share with us and are committed to protecting your personal information. We make every effort to ensure that your personal information is processed in a fair, open and transparent manner. We aim to be clear when we collect your data and not do anything you wouldn’t reasonably expect.

SLC is a “data controller” for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 and (from 25 May 2018) the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“Data Protection Law”).  This means that we are responsible for, and control the processing of, your personal information. We have put in place measures to safeguard your personal data and to manage your personal data in accordance with these laws and regulations.

The principles set out in the Privacy Notice apply to all instances in which SLC receives your personal data as a Data Controller as described in the Privacy Notice. In drafting our Privacy Notice we asked ourselves a number of key questions that we believe you would like answered about the personal data that you submit to SLC.

The answers contained in the Privacy Policy will inform you of your rights relating to your personal data, the security measures that SLC has put in place and the purpose where such personal data is used to further our human rights objectives. We hope this Privacy Notice clearly explains:

  • what information we collect;
  • how we will use that information;
  • who we share your information with;
  • your choices regarding how we hold, use and process the personal information you share with us
