Dear friends,

In a previous blog post I told you about my plans to step into a boxing ring to raise money for the Sri Lanka Campaign. Well I did it and here is the proof:

It might not be that edifying a spectacle, and if you watched to the end you will see I ended up losing by a single point, but please bear in mind that this was our first ever bout, that he is a good deal bigger than me, and that he hits incredibly hard indeed. I can truly say it was the longest and most painful six minutes of my life. The next day I could barely get out of bed and my nose still feels a little sore.

It was all made worth it though when I found out that your generosity had raised over £1700 for the Sri Lanka Campaign.

So first of all a massive thank you to all of you for your support – it made getting beaten up seem worthwhile.

And, more importantly, it is not too late to sponsor me. So if you were moved by the lengths I have gone to to raise money for the campaign then please do click this link and give whatever you can afford. We really have achieved an enormous amount together, but we won’t be able to carry on doing it without your support.

And if you inspired to do something similar then please have a look at our Community Fundraising Page and then get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.

All the best
